Hi! I鈥檓 Bana, and I graduated from Harvard University, where I studied Neuroscience with a minor in Global Health and Health Policy. After graduating, I started a dental clinic, and I鈥檓 an incoming MD candidate at the University of Michigan. To tell you a little more about me, I鈥檓 originally from Syria and moved to Pittsburgh as a kid (Go Steelers!). I love doing pottery, reading, traveling, dancing, and getting to know people.
I鈥檝e been tutoring and mentoring students since high school. I love working with people and figuring out where they need support, and then making a plan, together, to help them succeed. I first started tutoring in high school, where I established a tutoring club so every student can get the help they need. Aside from tutoring friends and family, I taught neuroscience classes in Japan, worked with high school students in Bosnia & Herzegovina, mentored students through local organizations in Boston, and currently remotely guide high school students through the college application process. My strongest tutoring areas are science (especially biology), college application guidance, English, math, test prep (SAT/ACT), and conversational Arabic. My college essay students have been accepted to a range of schools, including Oxford, Columbia, and Georgetown.
I love working with students and seeing them thrive, and I鈥檓 excited to continue doing so with 麻豆原创!
